New to forum but have 2 Kubota B Tractors (84 and 94 ish???) the newer one has a fork that activates the safety switch for the starter lockout from the PTO and the fork that activates it keeps popping out. After replacing it and then losing the new one, I got smart and added a spring pin to the fork to keep it on the tractor. Problem is that it will not stay engaged in the fork for the next start and not sure what caused this to fall out in the first place... Any ideas besides just electrically bypassing the switch and leaving the fork out???

another filthy tractor... ... If I have a issue with any safety switch, I just employ a paper clip and bridge the terminals in the plug.

You really don't much of choice...fix it or hot wire.

I did fix it but the fork piece keeps falling out. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? I tried bending the pieces but still comes out of the slot. did something move or is it just old?

I just looked at my B7300, to try and get an idea of what you are talking about. I see what I think you call the forked piece. That is what the switch is firmly and solidly connected to. On mine, the 'slotted' piece of the part, slips into the fork, and the 90-degree bend rod slips into the hole on the control arm. I tried to take a photo, but could not get it in focus, so I took your photo and marked it up to sort of look like mine looks.

While it looks kind of weird, that is the way it is attached, with no other parts or pieces to hold in place. When the selection lever is in Neutral, the thicker part of the piece presses on the switch and allows the engine to start. In any other position, the thick part of the piece does not touch the switch and the engine will not start.
