Kubota B7500
Randomly my manual transmission B7500 stops running for no apparent reason. It happens when you turn it off after using it. Does not matter if it has been running a short time or a long time. When this happens, you turn the key, the dash lights come on, but nothing, no starter, no noise. The even more weird thing is after some random time (hours, days, even a week), it start up as if there was noting wrong.

I took it into the shop when it quit running one day, they found nothing wrong with it, said they cleaned the clutch safety switch and all was good. I am wondering if that switch is bad and acts up?

Has anyone replaced that solenoid switch and if so how hard it?

Thanks for any suggestions you may have. The tractor is currently dead in the back yard and we really need to use it.

I'm no master mechanic by any means, but since your dash lights come on, it appears your ignition switch is functioning properly. Next stop I'd look at is the solenoid between the ignition switch and starter. Try bypassing that, and see if you get the starter to engage.

Do you have a seat, safety switch? I'd check that as well. (actually I'd throw the d*** thing away myself, but that's me)

Good luck! Keep us posted.

I would look up the safety switches in the book for the tractor and troubleshoot them. It sounds like one is sticking. If you look in the worship manual, it should tell you which switches are normally open and normally closed. You can look online on how to temporarily bypass a normally open or closed switch to see which one is bad. If all are good, the starter solenoid could be sticking.

I would run a hot jumper wire from the battery to the hot side of the solenoid and see if the starter/solenoid is bad...make sure you have it out of gear also.
I had trouble one time with my RV..kelp stopping and sometimes, I would come off an exit and it would stop running .. Found out by luck it was the key switch that had a ground wire near it and would ground it out..after you would move around in the RV, I guess it would have that wire move away just enough to crank back up..Hard to think it would be something that easy to worry you after it did this for five times..also I had my tractor not starting like it was a bad low battery..found out the ground from the battery to the frame was loose..light on dash and horn work but sometimes just it would start and sometimes it would just click..tightening the bolt on the frame that had the ground from the battery and never had any more trouble..could be something like that aslo. But if it is a desiler.. that should not stop the engine from running..Some over the road tractor I had driven , had a thing in the water over flow tank and would stop the motor until you added more water back into it..could even be something like that to save the motor,,same thing for oil also..good luck on finding the fix for it.

Another thing that will keep a B7500 from starting is the PTO neutral switch. It will not start unless the PTO switch indicates that it is in neutral.
The next time it refuses to start try moving the PTO level a little bit.

Thanks guys, I'll try your suggestions tomorrow when the temperature is under 90.

My L3700 did that...ended up being the accelerator pedal switch..it was very intermittent and aggravating. Ended up being a 20.00 part.

Wow that is a new one. HOw hard was it to replace? I am guessing you are talking about the petal not the column lever?

Thanks for the tip.

One little bolt and a plug.. took about 3 minutes. I could be wrong but i think it was called the neutral safety relay. Basically the relay that tells the tractor that the tractor accelerator pedal is not depressed.

Scook222...I can see you certainly do love your tractor! :drink:
