I think most Kubotas have the muffler on top. Could be wrong but my 2410 is that way and I think my BX is that way. Well, the BX is a little to the side. Actually it makes sense to me. Heat rises so therefore being on top the engine prevents that heat from transferring to the engine. Also it is protected up there. I may be giving them to much credit, that may have been the only place left to put the muffler, seems to work fine. J
