So, my brother was operating out B7800. It bogged down then died. He cleaned the fuel filter and it still would not run. He bought a new Kubota fuel filter put her back together and it ran good. I took her out to do some brush hogging. It ran great for about 20 minutes then suddenly it bogged down. I tried idling it down and it almost died. So I shut her off. I soon realized I was in the blazing sun so I started it back up with the throttle lever opened wide it was only running about 1200 RPM and moved it about 25 foot to the shade. I cleaned the fuel filter with some ether and put it back together. With full throttle it would start but wouldn't stay running. I let her sit for a few hours and tried again. Same, it would barely start with the throttle wide open and would only hold 12 or 1300 RPMs. I went back out the next day, same. I went out the next day and put the old fuel filter in it an she ran like new. My brother has ran it around his place for an hour or so and it is running good. I am just scared to take it out too far from the trailer. Any ideas on what may be causing this?
I am at my wits end with this thing.
THANKS

A couple of possible causes:
1) The vent in the fuel cap is plugged causing the tank to pull a vacuum as fuel is used. Try loosening the fuel cap to see if that makes a difference.
2) Something in the fuel tank that doesn't belong there, possible algae growth. You can disconnect the fuel line at the filter to see if you get full flow from the tank.

Yup.. we just went thru this on another thread, same fuel system.. {6 pgs}
"his" tank had 2 outlets.. 1 was clogged w/ "stuff".. wasn't getting enough fuel to the injection pump..
IF you have an air compressor that'll reach, disconnect the line from the filter & blow back to the tank..
TAKE OFF THE CAP 1ST..
You mighta swelled the new filter, using ether to clean it?? But it definitely sounds like crap in the tank. {to me}

Mine acted the same way after the station I get my diesel from went to biodiesel. Now I always put a little Bio-cide in my fuel tank to prevent the algae buildup. Never had the problem again.
