Kubota B9200 Will not leave High Range

Hi Guys:

I have a neighbor in Maine that loaned her tractor out recently.

After a 3 week period she received it back.

It now will not shift out of High Range. The rest seems to be OK but what can bind the internal workings of the lever?

She is elderly and with limited resources so I am trying to help where I can.

The B9200 is out of expertise. I would love to hear any thoughts?

Yes- I know I do not loan out my tractor without me EVER!

Maybe it's been in 4WD all this time and the gear train is all bound up?If so,back up awhile and it may free up?Good Luck!

My old B8200 would sometimes get hung up in low range. It is same family of tractor(B7200/8200/9200) from ~'84-86.

There was a zerk on that lever assembly on the B8200. It probably could use grease; probably all of the zerks on the tractor could use their 10 hours greasing.

Sometimes, the lever assembly, just below the "U" shape shifter guide, would separate. I sold mine a year and a half ago, so going from memory... Just below the "U" shaped shifter gate(has label with Hi-Mid-Lo), the shift mechanism is actually a two piece lever. Some times, the two lever sections would separate slightly, which would not allow the lever assembly to move side to side properly.

I never had any problems with the transmission itself, but I did have that issue with the linkage. Once it was aligned properly, it worked fine again. I had that happen a few times.

While you're there, grease all the zerks... on the levers, and the clutch pedal shaft, brake pedal shaft, HST shaft ect. I think there were only 8-10 zerks on the tractor itself, more on the loader if so equipped.
