Thought I would drop the bad valve section out, shorten the three bolts or make spacer, then T the pressure side of the pump to a single spool valve with a built in relief and run the other side of the pressure line (T) to the main valve chest. Thanks for the quick link for the .5 cu pump, ordering one tonight.

You don't want any T's between the pump and the control valves( unless it's a closed center valve setup, which I don't think you have)

Could I place a T on the return side and route thru a single spool valve then back to the tank?

You can tee into a return line as long as it does not provide any back pressure. All returns should be going to tank/reservoir.

Why would yuou want to use another valve to control a return line. It just isn't done, as you don't want to impede the return flow. You block the return, and you might destroy another valve.

Just trying to figure out how to add a control valve to operate the stab jacks, since I am loosing the busted section. 6 cylinders and only 5 valve sections unless I add an additional one external.

If the BH has a PB port, use that. Or, make sure the new valve has PB, and put it before the BH valve. .

So get a new single valve that has a power beyond port? Sorry about my lack of knowledge with this stuff, but I am just learning and your advice is most helpfull. Oh yeah, got the new pump on the way from the link you sent me. Thanks alot JJ.

Just a side note, make sure the pump is capable of turning the right direction. If the engine turns CCW, then the pump should be turning CW, if using direct coupling. Anything connected face to face, must turn in opposite direction, unless the pump is by-directional.

Pull rope on a small engine turns CW, and looking at the shaft end, should turn CCW.

Sorry it has taken so long to reply, I go to bed early and wake up early. Oh yeah, I also work late a lot. The pump I previously had turned CW and the pump I ordered is suppose to turn CW, so it should work out fine. They both have the same size shaft and key way, so I'll just have to do the direct mount again using the same couplings and make sure the shafts are centered and level, drill a few more holes in my home made pump bracket, then do some plumbing. Now just trying to decide to buy a single spool valve with PB, or bite the bullet and order the new 6 spool valve you found for me. They have it on sale for $435.00 plus shipping.

Some advice here if you purchase a new BH valve. Some BH functions don't need to be fast, and slow is good sometimes. You can vary the engine speed to have some control over speed of operation. There are restrictors, that when added inline, will slow down the action. My Case BH has several restrictiors in the system.

I think the kubota valve has a few of those restricters as part of the top fittings (pressure). When I removed a few of the hydraulic adapters, the inside of the adapters were almost solid, except for a small orfice to allow oil to flow thru it. Thanks, JJ

Update on my kobota back hoe. I ordered the pump you suggested JJ, and mounted it to my 13 hp engine, then removed the busted section of hydraulic valve and made 1 1/2 spacers out of steel tubing from tractor supply, put the valve back together, drilled two new holes for the mount of the valve where it was shorter and it worked great. Bought two 12" casters I am going to mount to the front of the hoe so the gravely does'nt have to lift it up, all it will have to do is tow it and it should articulate well. Now just need to get a single spool valve with pb and hose it in for the swing cylinders.
