Kubota BH 92

/ Kubota BH 92 #5
Your gonna love the BH92. It is not as capable as a full size BH or M59 for example, but you can do a lot with it. I agonized about the expense (including hydraulic thumb) but it turns out I leave it mounted on my MX5100 for the majority of the summer. The downside is that it takes about 20 minutes (or up to 25-30 on a really bad day) to switch from 3 point to the BH92. Usually not longer than 20 to go from BH92 to 3 point. You need 14 and 17 mm wrenches for the 3 point, no tools needed for the BH92. I think it was about the 3rd or 4th time I went to mount the BH92 I had trouble getting it lined up and seated and became frustrated. Walked back to the house, read the OP Manual, and started over. Have not had any problem since then. (Just saying it might take a few minutes practice.) Anyhow, think you're gonna forget the purchase price before long....

By the way, which bucket(s) did you get?

I have nothing negative to say about the BH 92, other than delaying getting it for 7 years, due to the price. Actually, I believe I started out not being able to afford the BH-90 until that model was replaced. I've used it to remove our old, unused septic collection & distribution tanks. Dug out about a dozen stumps, then burried them when I found out my town wouldn't issue a burn permit. No thumb, but I see the utility and want one. One bucket -18" - seems to be a good general purpose size.

I also bought the BH92 with my MX5100, and have put more than 200 hours on it in 18mos. Trenched in 2100 ft of water line 8ft deep around the perimeter of my new treeline. LOVE IT!!

I like mine, just slow compare to my past mini excavator witch is expected. Love my hydraulic thumb, it's a must have.

I have a BH65, a little brother to yours, and love it. If you asked me to justify getting it before I bought it I couldn't. Now I use it all the time and know it's there anytime I need it if my water line from the well has to be replaced, stumps to be dug and buried, propane lines replaced......and etc. You'll enjoy having it.

I can't think of any downsides to the BH92 as long as you understand it is not a mini x or a full size hoe. I've put about 75 hours on my BH92 and it has been great. It will probably take me another ten years to come out ahead on the purchase price of the hoe vs rentals but the convenience factor is the best. I'm sure you'll really enjoy the tractor and backhoe, and be sure to post some pictures of the new machine when it comes in.

Welcome to TBN.
