Kubota bucket capacities

Get the 60" if your doing a lot of mulch, I have a 50" (only bucket offered at the time) for my B2620 which is the same basic tractor as the B2601. I've been wanting to add a 60" bucket for when I'm doing mulch, the 60" "light materials" bucket is also a bit deeper when I looked at them side by side.

Honestly the loaders aren't great for "digging" anyways and you'll be frustrated moving mulch with the smaller bucket.

I'd appreciate any advice. I know the 60" would be better for the mulch. I'm just not sure if it holds up as well as the 54" for more solid materials.

i have the 54" in on mine and ive used it to dig, move snow, move gravel and also haul tree parts (rounds, etc.) in the bucket.
Works great. I have hit things that stopped it but i was abusing it at the time. The only time i've ever had something in the bucket i couldn't lift was when i was digging into a big pile of gravel. (basically i had the bucket more-than-full with 1/2inch gravel/roadbase, which was a *little* too much for it. I had to back off to an approximately level fill. And of course, you can always find a way to be aggressive while digging :)

I had the choice of 54 or 60 from my dealer (5 years ago) and i really think the 54 was the right choice. I occasionally miss having more capacity (usually when using the bucket to haul things) but i havent been motivated to buy a 2nd bucket yet.

When Kubota says "light materials bucket" they are offering a larger bucket for the tractor with the intention that it's used for lighter materials like mulch, manure, barn cleanout, etc where you can benefit from more volume without running up against lift limits. It's built the same as the standard bucket. Generally it's not going to be capable of a fully heaped load of a heavy material like dirt or gravel when paired with the same tractor. You will know when you hit the limit because the loader won't be able to lift or curl the material as you back out of a pile. The bucket will work fine with those heavy materials as long as you take smaller bites.
