HI there everyone ,my buddy just bought a new kubota GR2010G . After using it a couple of times he checked the oil and it was already at the add mark. For the next couple of months cutting grass he would have to check the oil very closely because of oil consumption ,thinking there might be a break in period he just kept adding oil . He had it looked at by the dealer they told him it would be fine just to keep adding oil. MY question is, how much oil is considered normal ? Does anyone have the same problem ? I have a kubota but it,s a diesel and it goes from one oil change to another without adding any oil . Would greatly appreciate any advice from anyone . THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND HAVE A GREAT EVENING KEVIN FROM PEI CANADA

It would help to know how much time is put on the engine between needing to add oil... and how much oil goes in.
Gas engines break in rather quickly and after the first hour or so, oil consumption should be minimal. Is there any noticeable smoke, with the engine running?
The most likely culprit would be a too rich fuel mixture. Possibly the choke stuck partly closed, causing the oil to be diluted down and going out the exhaust. Check the oil to see if there is the smell of gas present. If there is any doubt, change the oil.

Imo no oil usage is normal, the rings never seated properly, possibly blow by. Have him run the motor HARD under a LOAD for an hour or so... Worth a shot.
