Looking to purchase a BX 1800. I have been to several local dealers. The best quote to date is $9,490.00 plus tax. Includes 54"mower, engine block heater, rear work light, delivery and 50 hour on-site service. Is this a good value?
Quotes on the Bx 2200 were almost $1,400.00 more. Is the additional cost worth the difference? Thanks

First let me say welcome to the board!
I think that is a fair price on the BX1800butfrom my shopping experience the BX2200 should only be about $400.00 more. I was quoted $9,985.00 BX2200 set up the sam as yours except the 50 hour service was not included. I wound up buying BX2200 w/turf tires, 60'mmm, front end loader, and grill guard for $12,050.00.
Most dealers in my area do not stock the BX1800 because the price is so close to the BX2200 and they are hard to sell. If you are interested in the 2200 I would check another dealer or two. Good luck.

12ashman, I have heard that different geographical areas have different pricing structure, it would help to know what area of the US or world you are in. I did not answer your second question. At $400.00 difference I recommend stepping up to the 22HP. At 1,400.00 difference you would have to look very hard at how you want to use it. IF you are going to use it primarily for mowing I think the 18HP would be fine. If you plan on a FEL, tiller, rotary cutter, or heavy ground engaging implements I would try to find a better deal on the 22HP.
You might take a look atCarver Equipment</font color=blue></font color=blue> for some price comparison.

Sounds to me like the guy has a glut of 1800s (or at least, easy access to them) and the 2200s are so in demand that he has adjusted his prices to command more profit on them. He probably figures you will decide on the 2200. (and perhaps you should, but not from him).
I have the 2200 and 60" deck/loader. Everything I do with them could be done with the 1800, but I would think perhaps with the tillers etc, the 2200 might be the thing to get. What are you planning to do with it?
