The tractor should be delivered Friday and it is coming with the 12 inch bucket. I would like to get a second bucket in the 6-8 inch range without teeth. Is my best option to go back to Kubota to get that or ar there aftermarket options? I searched the forums and web without muc h luck.

Thanks

Bob
I've often wanted a straight blade instead of teeth for certain things, and have contemplated building such an attachment that could be easily installed and removed - and something without removing teeth or changing bucket. Never having built it yet, I'd think it best to use some heavy steel, drill holes in the outer 2 teeth to attach it, possibly with carriage bolts with heads facing the scoop side, with squared holes for them in the steel plate, and then bolts and washers on the back. Conceivably, the plate could instead be bent into a tight V shape for extra strength.

I think a small bucket might be nice to have around for a few certain jobs, but for what you're considering, I'd stick with the 12".

I got the factory hydraulic thumb and it was the best money I spent other than the tractor itself.

Good luck.

Smaller buckets are certainly worst to get packed tight with clay.

I removed the teeth from the 12” bucket for waterline repair. Much less chance of damaging utilities and cleaner bottom. That BXpanded 6” with Piranha bar would be nice. The side design help keep from packing like regular bucket. Piranha bar plus thumb would be a great shrub or small tree plucker. Need their ripper too! Now that I have ripper use it often. Made an adapter to use the KX ripper on the B26.

Got some new USA Attachments mini-X KX excavator buckets when converted the M59 from pin-on to QA. Had a free option to upgrade to ESCO premium teeth. They are smaller, sharper, more wear resistant than the Kubota or CAT like teeth. They seem to perform better, easier digging. Got to help with low power equipment.

I have a BX25D-TLB with a 8 inch bucket (Model BT2930A) it has removable teeth, It's great for removing stumps and gereral planting around the house. I would love a straight edge for the bucket for trenching. Check out BX Expanded they make a narrow trencher bucket with flat edge they make great accessories for the Kubota's
They also have an excellent quick attach setup that makes changing buckets easy, not to mention a nice narrow bucket if one needs to do trenching for utilities, etc. Oh, and a mechanical thumb. Great company who happens to sponsor this discussion area.
