The factory filters on my BX are gray that matches the frame, but the replacement Kubota filters are white with the blue print on them. Does anyone know what the reason is for this?

Could it be the engine and frame were painted with filters mounted?

hevyduti is correct, this is common with many manufacturers.

I'd believe it. There wasn't any printing (that I remember) on the factory filter so most likely it was painted over.

In my mind I was thinking it was for aesthetics when they are sitting on the lot. :confused2:

I worked for OEMs before. The first one I worked for would build and assemble the entire product and then paint it. I thought that kind of sucked for the person that would eventually have to take the bolts apart later.

Oil change complete. Next up is the HST filter.

Yes, the factory filters are painted over when the rest of the engine/tractor gets painted.

If you want to get fancy, you could just say Kubota took time to color match their filters to the gray engine/frame paint for better aesthetics....

Most of the Kubota engine oil filters that I bhave gotten were sourced by Kubota USA from US or China suppliers are white with the blue lettering.

I have gotten various hydraulic filters for the RTV BX and G2160 in yellow, orange, white light blue and also FACTORY GREY from my parts guy, he can shop many sources in Kubota Japan and USA, some filters are cheaper than others.

I write the hours and date on the end of the white filter when it is changed.

I use napa gold filters instead of factory, cheaper, and very good.
