Just finished up the modifications to the OEM grill Guard to accept 4 suitcase weights. This will allow me to use 3pt attachments with out the FEL for ballast.

Are those kubota weights? or generic?
How many lbs.?

I have been looking at the Kubota weight bracket, which angles downward.
I thought maybe this was so that it didn't conflict with the FEL.
Not that they would be needed, but, does the FEL fit OK with the weights in place??

As I'm sure you are aware the OEM weight bracket cannot be used in conjunction with the OEM Grill Guard. This is the reason I decided to Fab something myself.
The bracket itself protrudes 6" out from the frame which is the maximum to accommodate the FEL.
To answer one of your questions: The weights themselves need to be removed before attaching the FEL.
The suitcase weights -- I purchased off E-Bay which was much cheaper than the $60 (each) ouch... Kubota wants for them.
I believe they are Jinma weights 35-37 lbs each

I was eyeing those Ebay weights, don't know if they are the same ones you used? Set of 4.

I haven't removed my FEL yet, but if I did, I would definately need a front weight set-up. Also figured they could do double duty on a 3PH rig, too.

Not only are the Kubota weights a little pricey as you mentioned, how bout that factory bracket? Ouch!
