Kubota BX23 3 point bleed

I have a new to me 2005ish bx23 and my back is loving it! Everything else works great (hydrostat/fel/backhoe attachment).
I just got a 3 point hitch setup and a land pride grader, put it all on and discovered that my 3 point hitch won't stay up (it bleeds down really fast). I have turned the lock knob by the seat all the way in and it still won't stay up. If I turn the lock knob out it does regulate the fall rate but won't stop it completely.
I would like to be able to lift & hold the grader up a little so it doesn't dig in as far when I'm grading my driveway.
My local service dealer is always out weeks if not months for repairs and I am a capable mechanical guy but don't know where to start on this repair or how difficult it would be, hope someone has seen this before and can give me an idea?

If the closed drop rate knob fails to hold the hitch in position the first place to look is to the lift cylinder piston seals.

Thanks, where would I go to find a diagram or service manual to see how big of a deal it is there a place to get a seal kit?

Typically the problem comes down to worn O ring and backup ring on the 3 pt piston.

The pdf file and second jpg file is from the WSM and gives you an overly simplified view of what is involved.

Seats and braces have to be removed just to get to the piston.

Did you figure it out? This is what I found on mine when I removed the back hoe for the first time on my cub Someone had used a wrench and caused some damaged threads and split the stop washer
