Kubota BX23
I have a 2005 Kubota BX23 that I am planning to outfit with additional work lights. While I was looking around the battery compartment, to tie in with the electrical, I noticed two square openings in the back of the dash that are not quite cut through and are located below and just to the left of the ignition switch. I cannot find reference to any Switch or Indicator Light option that might be dealer installed in them. Does anyone know what Kubota accessory they might be for ?

The BX23 schematic does not show any optional switches. It DOES show the wiring for the optional work light, which comes out as two pigtails under the seat. It's hooked up to a 20A fuse and the key switch. I think the Kubota work light must have a switch inline on the harness.

There is a recent thread on ROPS work light suggestions (started by me!) that has good suggestions from other TBN members on all the various options on work lights.

I was aware of the Pigtails under the seat, as the fellow from the dealer who delivered my machine pointed them out, and had seem the Fuse listed in the manual. I went a step further and found that circuit controlled by the headlight switch.

I had an idea or two myself, but I will locate and view your thread for further input, thanks for the response.

I believe that they are for the electrical options for the snowblower, the chute deflector and the chute rotator.

Thanks for the hint, I checked out the Kubota Web Site for the BX23 and found those two options under accessories, so I am inclined to agree with you.

As I may look into a Snowblower in the future, and might need those opennings, I might just use a similar area on the dash to mount my switches.

Thanks Again for the help.

Correction:

I had said the Pigtails were controlled by the Headlight Switch, when I meant to state that they are controlled by the Ignition Switch.

Sorry, for the error I generated in providing this information.

Them pigtails are on the same curcuit as your fuel solinoid, and safety switch under the seat, which was a stupid move by KUBOTA. I couldnt shut my 23 off a week ago because that fuse had blown, why because i think with my lights and them other things,i must have been drawing more than 20 amps.thEy should have had nothing else on that aux circuit. If i have any more problem im doing a hookup fused to the battery.
