Kubota BX23 losing power

Gentlemen,

I own a Kubota BX23 it has 192 hours on the meter. I have followed the maintenance and fluids schedule. I've been very happy with this little tractor, as it is a little workhorse.

I have a problem that recently started, around the 170 hour mark, were it loses power, the engine throttles down and then throttles back up again. Like it wants to shut off and then it revs up again. I changed the fuel filter and air filter at 175 hours. I did not changed the fuel lines. I was working on a slight rise this past Saturday and it seem like 80% of the time the problem occurred when going uphill. Otherwise it mows fine, tills fine. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there , not to state the obvious but is your fuel level low or even half way? There have been several posts about this and most of the time its due to the fuel sloshing around in the tank. Hope its something simple like that.

After I posted I read some of the other similar posts and topped off the tank. It did throttle down a few times this evening, but when it did I just made sure I was sitting hard on that seat and that seem to solve it. I will adjust my seat so that I can keep a little more pressure on it when going uphill. I do hope that was the problem.

After I posted I read some of the other similar posts and topped off the tank. It did throttle down a few times this evening, but when it did I just made sure I was sitting hard on that seat and that seem to solve it. I will adjust my seat so that I can keep a little more pressure on it when going uphill. I do hope that was the problem.

Luis, I had similar problems with my BX-22, only to find out it was bad fuel. I have been treating every tank full with an additive.

I will try some additive and I will get diesel at a different station. Thanks for the tip, I've been suspecting dirty fuel, since my first fuel filter look dirtier than I thought it should.
