I have a kubota bx25d that was sputtering. I changed both fuel filters, no change. Now, it will turn over but not even try to push any fuel. I drained the fuel system, just prior to the rear filter and added new fuel with an additive. Hooked everything up and tried turing it over but the fuel filters remain dry. I have the filters that you can see into, so I can see who's filling up. I checked for voltage to the pump and that looks to be right at 12v dropping to around 9v during a good starting crank. I then ordered a new pump. When I went to install the new pump, it started right up pumping away as soon as I made the electrical connection. I got excited, thinking I had found the problem, and threw everything back together. When I tried to start it, nothing happened. I felt the pump and it was just hot. Not pumping but just sitting there energized. It seems to only want to pump when the electrical connection of the connector is teased apart and back together. Then on the make an break it will make one pump but when the connector is fully snapped back together, the pump just sits there and gets hot. What else is there to this system that I'm missing? Did I just have bad luck with a crappy pump? I am a bit stumped on this problem.
