Quick Hitches Kubota BX2751 quick hitch

Thanks Tony;
Yes I see the bearings. The number in the list is: 70060-00925 This must be a Kubota part number.
I talked to the dealer and they said the bearing is imperial, for a 1 inch shaft and there should be 7 -3/8" protruding from the rear and about an inch of non-splined shaft sticking out past the front flange. this position is different from what I have read in this forum, I think. Maybe I'm making to big a deal of this, just don't want to mess up my nice new Tractor

I have a Bx 2370 tractor with less than 50 hours on it so I am still in the Honeymoon phase!

I have just installed the BX2750D front snow blower and noticed that the shaft in the 'quick hitch' is floating in the two flange bearings. The bearings have holes for 2 set screws each, but the set screws are missing. It seems that the shaft could drift forward and the rear spline would then have dangerously little engagement.
Should this shaft be secured by set screws, and what size are they? 1/4-28 thread seems to fit better than any metric I have tried, but imperial threads in a Kubota?
Would anyone have a parts list for the BX2751 quick hitch? I was also supplied with a BX2753 PTO drive line kit, but no info. I can't see any numbers on the bearings without taking the blower off again, hoping to avoid this, thanks.

The parts with the holes for the set screws are actually a lock collar and seperate from the bearings. It looks like there are two holes in each lock collar for two set screws. However, if you look at them closely, only one of the holes actually will be threaded for a set screw. The other hole is a very shallow hole. This hole is so you can "lock" the lock collar onto the bearing. To do this you need to get the lock collar as close to the bearing as you can and then with a punch and a hammer, turn the collar by driving (tapping) it around the shaft. The directions say, and this is a quote from the instruction sheet for the BX2752 PTO kit, "Fasten the shaft by turning the bearing's locking collars in the same direction as the PTO rotation (counter clockwise) and secure the bearings with the setscrews".
Oh, and they do not list the setscrew as a seperate part #. In fact, the bearing and lock collar are one part number. 70060-00925

Also, FYI, the BX2751 is the lift assembly only. It is not the PTO kit. The PTO kit with the long shaft is BX2753 and the PTO kit with the short shaft is the BX2752. This may help you when looking for manuals.
