Bota's rates seem fair.... Are they ok to deal with or should I think about my bank?

I used Kubota credit at 0%. They have been fine to deal with. Dealer set it up I signed, can't be much easier than that.

We don't have any banks that compete with their low interest rates here. It really is up to you as to what you feel comfortable with!

Banks cannot compete with % rate. There is a 10 day grace period before you owe a late charge. If you get Kubota insurance with the tractor it stops coverage when you pay off the note. If you pay off the note early you do not pay for the unused insurance, which is fair. You can look at the online site and see when they get your payment, and the payoff balance. pretty orange and blue Kubota payment book. No problems so far. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Chucko,

I checked around when I bought my Kubota with three banks that I had accounts/loans with. None could touch Kubota's finance rates at the time. Closest was 2.5% higher and required 20% down. I got 60 months at 5.5% with nothing down through Kubota and that was some kind of good in October of 2001.

And I didn't use Kubota's insurance because I found a better deal through my agent. Kubota didn't care, as long as you had proof of insurance.

In your situation I would stay with Kubota for financing. I belong to 3 credit unions and their loan rates are less than most banks but they can't compete with the loans offered by the tractor companies. Deere Credit gave me 5.5% for 60 months with 10% down. The lowest CU rate I could get was almost double that....10.5%. A new car loan was 5% and the auto would depreciate much faster than a CUT... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

When I purchased 5 years ago, Kubota credit was 2 - 3 points less than my bank. I refinanced 3 years later and the Kubota didn't show up on my credit report even though I had another year left to pay. I asked the loan officer about the inaccurate report, he said to keep quiet.

Does anyone know if this is standard Kubota policy?

I agree that Kubota's financing terms will probably be better on a new model. Kubota offers financing on used tractors as well. I purchased a used BX2200 last week. I got a better rate (between a 1/4% and a 1/2%) from the bank then Kubota. However, I'm not sure how much Kubota charges for fees and closing costs.
