Kubota engines and applications

Anyone have any information on kubota engines in commercial operation? Specifically how many hours can we expect from our engines given good maintence practices? My L5740 uses a V2403 engine where else is this engine used?

I'm pretty sure that engine is used in some Bobcat skid steer loaders. I could be wrong.

Kubota engines used in huge number of commercial operatons.
Example: Carrier reefers often get 15,000 hours of use before trouble and many not uncommon to get 30,000+ hours before rebuild is needed

Not sure of that particular engine's other applications but in general, engines in this size class used on mobile equipment applications are designed or 5,000 hours.

10,000 hrs is not an unreasonable goal with proper maintenance. I see it more in high use situations than in homeowner use. I just pulled the head on a similar engine with 8000 hrs that still had crosshatches on the cylinder walls and no ridge. I have no doubt that this engine will live to 12,000+ hrs. Of course I change the engine oil at roughly 100 hrs along with fuel and air filter changes.

We package the V1305E and V1505E in portable compressors here where I work. They are the best cold starting engines we have. We sell mainly to rental stores, so after the sell, I do not hear allot of feedback. But, as with any engine, life depends mostly on maintenance, care, and how hard the engine is loaded. Philip.

I have a 1986 Hustler 320 Industrial mower with a Kubota D950 21.5 hp engine in it. I think I have 3200 hrs on it and it is going strong.

So the engines in out cuts are used in other applications which generate more hours so its safe to say 5000 hrs is not unhearld of? Just wondering after reading a post about a man looking at a kubota tractor with 5000 hours if any one had experience with extermely high houred engines. I know in big tractor 8000-9000 hours are not unheard of. any one rebuilt a small kubota diesel ?

I have rebuilt my share having worked in Kubota dealerships for 12 of my 25 yrs as an equipment mechanic.

I know a guy who uses a sawmill powered by a 42hp Kubota engine. It has about 9500hrs on it and shows no sign of quitting. Oil change every 100 hrs and other maintenance done on proper schedule.
