Kubota F1900 Won't pull up hills

Hi all I have a kubota F1900 (same as a GF1800) that struggles to go up hills and will not go up any steep hills. The mower will just sit there and whine loudly when trying to go up a steep hill. I have changed the fluid and filter and cleaned the suction screen. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

An F1900? Why isn't it listed in the parts list? Anyway, it sounds like leakage in your hydrostat transmission. It could be something as simple as a stuck relief valve (can only hope), but if it has gradually been getting worse, you are looking at where in the hydrostat pump and motor components. A pressure check of the transmission is what is needed to diagnose what your problem could be.

Likely the hydrostatic transmission is shot, what fluid did you use when refilling it. A heavier fluid may bandaid the system for a bit.

Thanks for the replies it’s a gf1800 with a different name I’m in Australia the hst pump was replaced about a year ago so thinking maybe relief valve? Is there a simple way to see if it is functioning properly the mower does push easily when it’s not running if that’s anything to do with it? I used super utd fluid and genuine filter last time it was changed

Yes, it could be the relief, but a pressure test is the only way to diagnose what exactly is going on. I might think that the hydrostat motor might be bad now. Why was the pump replaced and was it the hydrostat pump or gear pump that supplies the hydrostat pump?

I bought the mower for cheap with no hydraulics working no drive or anything took it to the dealer and they replaced the hydro pump so not to sure the mower has almost 2000 hours so could be wear somewhere not sure
