The only reason my husband became interested in using the computer was to do research for a new tractor. I have heard more stories from the tractorbynet forums then any woman should. After eleven months of research and debate the Kubota was the chosen tractor (I even test drove the John Deere and Kubota - several models). Kubota has the tempting financing...however he decided two weeks ago that it was too much for our finances. The tractors he was using were wired together without cabs. He was using a face mask for his recently developed asthma, dragging his left leg after using the clutch so much, and developed a problem with his neck from turning around. The next day I called the Kubota dealer 100 miles away and we did the financing paperwork over the fax machine and by the end of the day my surprise Christmas present was purchased in my name. I kept the secret for two days until we traveled to the city. I didn't have any trouble luring him to the dealership. The tractor was parked in the front: Grand L3430 with the Grand Cab, CD player/AM/FM, heat/air conditioning, filled tires, rear lights, 6 foot front mounted snowblower, and the front end loader - we live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and use the tractor for snow removal along with gardening. My husband walked up to the tractor and there was a sold sign on the cab. Bummer...I flipped it over and his name was on the reverse side. "Merry Christmas, I bought it for you Thursday." The man teared up and was speechless. The tractor was delivered the following Tuesday. The driver tried backing out of our driveway and drove the trailer off into the snowback. The Kubota was hooked up and pulled the trailer out ...now we are waiting for more snow. So I own a new Kubota and he is the happy operator. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

What a wife, mine is just as good and most of you men can only wish! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You sound like one heck of a gal, and I think your tractor is sexy. You've heard the song? The day I bought my tractor my wife told me she couldn't get that silly song out of her head. After a couple of weeks watching me learn to use my new toy, I mean tool, she couldn't stand it any longer. She crawled on it and went to work with the box blade doing a fine job. She's a quick learner, and she let me buy a tractor. Mine's been a great help so far in our little adventure, and I can't help but wonder how anyone can get along without one. The FEL is worth its weight in dollar bills, by the way.

Tell your husband I said he is one lucky man, but I'm sure he already knows that.

If only all wifes were as nice and caring as you, I am also fortunate that my wife is very good to me, and I do and buy what I want/need, without any fuss from her....I have some friends though that have wives that are just the opposite, that would be no fun...

WOW.

Most impressive.

Welcome to TBN. Stick around for a while and share some stories with us! What a great present to give.

Congrats to you both.

We should make this post a sticky to make sure all wives see how a truly devoted spouse behaves. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Are you the lady who bought the key and the little toy tractor? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Your husband is a very lucky guy, and I'm sure the two of you must be very happy to understand and appreciate the other so much. Welcome to the TBN community. I hope you both stay with us and keep us updated on how useful the tractor is.

Where are you in the U.P.? I've spent some time in the Houghton/Hancock area and Copper Country, but in summers. It was always impressive to find Lilacs blooming in late June. I can't imagine 200 inches of snow a year!

I relate very well to the sore neck, stiff leg etc. from driving my little Kubota that's just a couple of sizes too small for my body.

Great story! Sounds like the dealer was pretty cool to work with also. Congratulations! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm jealous. All I get is "are you online looking at tractors again? You must need something to do".

Oh, and when I told her that I stopped by the dealer yesterday (smiling) to test drive a new Kubota, she rolled her eyes & said I have issues!

Congratulations!
