I have a 1988 G 6200 Diesel garden tractor. I bought a cold weather preheater kit through Kubota. It is a freezeplug heater. Does anyone have info on the installation of this kit. I am a little confused. The installation instructions show a compression type fitting where it mounts into the block. The kit I have has a threaded type mount into the block. Where do I mount the threaded piece into the block? thanks in advance for any help!!

Some of the core plug holes were threaded most are left smooth and the plug is a tight press fit. If your dealer sold you the threaded type he must think you have threaded holes in your block. Check and if not measure the hole size and exchange it for an expanding type. KennyV.

On my G5200 it mounted in the front of the block. There was also a plate that I needed to remove and drill a big hole through so everything could pass through. I think mine threaded in but it's been so many years I could be wrong. I'll look at it this weekend.

I appreciate the info-thanks. Let me know what you find on your 5200 Dave. Is it located in the air filter end of block or the radiator end of block. Pics would be great help if possible. -thanks again

My engine in my G5200 is a D600. Don't know if they used the same engine in the G6200 or not.

I did have to pull a freeze plug out. It's located on air filter end of block. There should be a freeze plug on top front of block as you look facing the front of the engine. It will be covered by the plate that mounts the air filter and fuel filter to the block. Your going to need to drill a 1 1/4" hole through that plate for the heater to pass. There is an adapter that goes into the freeze plug then it looks like the heater itself is screwed in.

Part number for my heater kit was 70090-02841.

I have the instructions and part numbers that I can scan (if I can figure that out) and send if you want. PM me if you want.

I just installed a preheater in my Cub Cadet 1512 and my Cub Cadet 782d. This is a Kubota D600-B motor and has a 30mm freeze plug....Part number from Kubota is 70000-17552 and run around $105 each. I did have to drill a 2" hole thru the bracket that my fan hooks to and then welded in a 1 3/4" piece of pipe to strengthen it back up. This freeze plug is above the flywheel and next to the air cleaner inlet. Preheater can only go into the hole one way because there is not enough room in the port and you will break the heater or the motor. I did clean the port and then put fingernail polish on the heater and then drove in with hammer and a 1" socket. View attachment Kubota Pre-Heater Install.pdf
