I was given a Kubota G1800 Diesel with 1100 hours on it that needs some TLC. I have no documentation and have no idea when it was manufactured. I have a couple questions:
1. The serial number is 11725. Can the manufacture date be found with this?
2. The G1800 came with a 60 inch mower deck. From what I understand that size deck is rare. Is that true?
I've owned a G1800 since 1995 and only have 670 hours it. I love it and with some simple TLC you should have a great machine that lasts a long time. I have had some minor problems though:
Starter relay started dying. Replaced it was an aftermarket relay and all is good.
Throttle cable broke. I used an OEM part but I realized after I could have rebuilt the old part with some 1/8" steel wire rope available at big box stores like Lowes or Home Depot
The fuel shut-off solenoid died. Replaced it with a manual pull fuel shut off.
The foot plates started rusting through under the rubber mats. I live in an area that uses lots of salt in the winter and the water and salt solution ate away under the rubber mats.
My snow blower rusted out and because the machine is so old, I had to have a local shop rebuild the blower.
Lakeside, thank you for the G1800 owner's introduction. I will keep on eye on the parts you mentioned because I agree the tractor should last a long time.
