Hey Everyone-
I have a Kubota G1900 lawn tractor with about 800 hours on it. I've never had any major problems with it, but when I went to cut the grass yesterday there was a very loud banging at when I reved the engine to higher rpms...so much so that I was hesitant to drive it. After a bit of investigation I discovered that the noise seemed to be coming from something underneath the floor straight down from the steering wheel. Also, the lever to the right of the seat that holds the speed was shaking violently.
My guess is that perhaps it is the universal joint that comes off the engine? It seems that if it was worn out it would be causing that whole piece to the shaking and rattling into the floor. (I don't know much about this...if you can't tell.)
I'm hoping someone could tell me what the problem might be, how to go about getting to that universal joint if I need to replace it, and if there is a good place to buy parts cheaper than the Kubota store. Thanks.
