A friend of mine has an older Kubota (B8200) and is going to upgrade in the next few months. He was casually talking to a dealer about the 24HP range. He has the impression that Kubota has a gear tractor in this range, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all the B series HST only with the exception of the 7510DT?

P.S. I just sold mine tonight, so I'm on the prowl tommorrow in search of a new beast.

The B7410DT and the B7510DTN look like the only gears to me. The B7410 & B7510DTN has 6F x 2R. The B7510DTN is the narrow model. It is quite narrow so it can get into narrow rows, tight places, and the like. The overall width (min tread) for the B7410DT is 42.4". The B7510DTN is 35.3". Good luck in your search!

The current Kubota lineup includes 3 models of gear driven tractors. The B7410DT, the B7510DT and the B7510DTN.

If your friend prefers gears tell him to look at the L2800. I like mine alot. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Steve,

I'll bet Charley's on the right track. The dealer was probably telling him about the L2800 - It has 24 PTO HP. Here's the specs page.

Sorry, I assumed you were thinking about B series tractors. The L series would include the L2800, L3400, L4300 in the non syncro transmission line and some people may include the DT and the GST of the 30 series.

I was. I just forgot about the basic 'L' series, although now that I looked at the specs the 2800 is bigger than he is looking for I think. But don't hesitate to reply to my questions as I can be narrowminded sometimes in my train of thought.

Steve, it is a bigger machine but I don't recall there being a big price difference. Sometimes bigger is a good thing and for similar $ I'll take bigger. Also, they tend to shrink with use. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
