Kubota GL-5240 HSTC-3 Will not move Help Please - FIXED - THANK YOU!
I had tilted the seat up to get stored wrenches and the stationary seat belt half fell under the seat, inhibiting the occupancy switch. THANKS for the tip.
Yesterday, I moved the GL-5240 HSTC-3 forward approximately 20 feet in the long narrow building it stays in to get at and loan a piece of equipment to a neighbor. There was no issue, except I do not like to start and stop the engine before everything warms up.
This morning, I went to move it back to remove the loader and install the snow blower because a fair-sized storm is forecast for later this week. The engine stalled with any attempt to move it forward or backward. It acts as though the brakes are stuck on hard.
The building is dry and has not gone below freezing, so temperature-frozen brakes are unlikely.
The following are tests I have made to find the cause with no insight on my part. Please suggest what may be the cause and what I can do to test and fix.
- The engine speed is fully controllable by the Hand Throttle Lever
- Using either the Foot Throttle or the Cruise Control Lever to cause motion cause the engine to attempt to stall. Reducing throttle position reduces apparent engine load.
- The problem happens in every HST mode, MANUAL, STALL GUARD, & AUTO H-DS/STALL GUARD)
- The problem happens in every Range Gear Shift Lever position (L-M-H)
- With very high (2,500 RPM) engine speed and very gentle rear Foor Throttle does cause rearward motion, yet it would not be practical to move the tractor even 5 feet.
- All the other hydraulics work fine. (Loader, Rear Flail Mower up/down, and Mower PTO).
- I operated the brakes independently and together with maximum force multiple times with no change.
- The engine stall response happens with the transmission in Neutral and the Clutch pedal depressed. This makes me think that it is a logical or electrical problem, and I think it excludes stuck brakes and mechanical failure like jammed gears. The fact that it did move a few inches with the high throttle setting tends to confirm this.
Any ideas will be GREATLY appreciated.
