Good and Best are very subjective terms.
Numbers thrown around on this website seem to indicate that in the under 50 horsepower tractors sold, Kubota sells about 50% of all those tractors sold in the United States. John Deere sells about 25% of all the under 50 hp tractors and New Holland sells about 15%. So those 3 brands make up roughly 90% of all the compact tractors sold in the United States. At least a dozen other companies are fighting for the remaining 10% of the sales.
Pricing seems to be very regional so value becomes regional too. In some areas, those 3 brands are very competitive and the pricing is going to be similar for similar machines.
I think it is reasonably safe to say that Kubota is an excellent brand as measured in just about any way you want to measure it.

Obviously I think kubotas are a good machine , I own one . But there are a lot of good machines out there besides Kubota . It will all come down to how the machines "fit " You and how confident you are in your prospective dealer .
Test them all for yourself and ask a lot of questions about each machine you try . Good luck ,and enjoy shopping ! John

Yep, it's one of those "Ford vs. Chevy" deals.
Personally I have owned 2 Ford 8N's, and presently own a Kubota B7100 (now for sale) and it's replacement, a Kubota B7510.
After 18 months with the B7100 I was a believer in Kubota. I looked at the JD's before I bought another Kubota just to be sure I wasn't missing something but didn't see anything I liked nearly as well as the Kubota B7510. I also had misgivings about JD because many of their tractors are built by Yanmar. I don't know anything about Yanmar, they may be a fine machine, but I wonder why JD doesn't build their own tractors in the subcompact class. I figure I might as well buy a Yanmar for less money rather than pay JD for their name and get a Yanmar.
We no longer have a NH dealer in town so I didn't look at them but I try not to buy anything built by Fiat (New Holland is what Fiat-Allis changed the name to when they bought out Ford tractor division).

My family has more John Deeres than you can shake a stick at. I am very fond of them in fact. Until two years ago when my nephew bought an L-series, I had never driven a Kubota. My brother-in-law just bought a new L-4330 and after comparing it to my Cub, I can't WAIT to trade the Cub in for a new Kubota. The Kubota feels way more solid and it has a better fit and finish.

Anymore, all of the CUT's are "GOOD". What makes one better than the other is the dealer which will be working with you.Every mechanical thing will have a problem or "issue" from time to time and a dealer who will take the time to resolve your problems quickly and fairly will become much more important after the sale.

NOW THATS A QUESTION THAT WILL NEVER BE ANSWERED. nothing is the best 100% of the time.. all depends on ones personal preference. ARE KUBOTA'S one of the better tractors ? yes they are but to say they are the best is stretching things a bit far. AND I OWN A KUBOTA. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thats not completely true.
The JD 4000/4010 series these tractors have Yamnar engines,which are very good engines,but the rest of the tractor is not a Yamnar product,except from my understanding the small John Deere 4100.The JD 4200/ 4210 through 4700/4710 are assembled in Augusta Georgia with a Yamnar engine.
The new JD 4020 series have John Deere power tech engines.
With that being said,Kubota makes an excellent product.
