This may be a bit of a stupid question but I'll shoot anyways!

I'm looking to buy a used Kubota B3030...I've found one I'm interested in with about 600 hours on it. Not sure of the year yet. What about is expected out of these engines before any issues? Is this like buying a car with 30,000 miles on it? Please advise. I am a little scared paying big bucks if I don't know!

Thanks in advance.

600 hours is not bad it might be more than you see on most B3030's though. I would not be worried if it has been taken care of not abused. I would be concerned if it was a rental or something wher 100 people used it. It would be very possiable to get many years of good use out of it.

History is much more important than hours. One homeowner that maintained the tractor well, no problem. Commercial use, rental machine, different story. I have always found that tractors that look good (no dents, few scratches, clean) are usually maintained well.

That's not a stupid question at all!

Can you get a peek at any maintenance records? I keep them on mine for my own info and possible resale/trade.

Yeah I think it could equate to 20 to 35 000 miles on a car but it is a very rough measure, like others have mentionned theres more to gage than just hours.

A Kubota dealer in WI has a Kubota diesel welder in their back room with 20,000 hours on it. I agree, at 600 hours it's almost ready to start using heavy :) Check for maintenance logs.
