I have an L4330 GST with an LA-853 loader that has a leaking cylinder. One of my bucket curl cylinders has a slow and steady drip. I can't see any scars or dings on the shaft. My local Kubota dealer wants $150 for the seals for this cylinder. Are there any alternatives out there? I can't stand the thought of paying $150 for some bits of plastic and O-rings that will fit in my hand.

Welcome to TBN.... wish I had insight into solving your problem, but my LA853 has had no problems. Yep, seems high for parts, maybe someone else will have ideas for you.

Do a quick search for repacking cylinders and the like. Here is a link to get you started.

This is a pretty simple job - I can't help you with local Hydraulics suppliers, but pretty much any of them will have the seals. The seal that is leaking is the one in the "cap". This is, of course, the most expensive of the seals in the cylinder. If I were you I'd replace the others too - cost is peanuts (relatively speaking).

The job is messy (oily) but very, very simple to do.

Cheers

Thanks guys. I'm going to check with a couple hydrualic shops here in town and see if they can get the seals any cheaper.
