Kubota Insurance Buyer

A good friend of mine had his Kubota equipment (b-series) stolen about a month ago. He was always told by his homeowners insurance that it was covered, so he did not think twice. Unfortunately they failed to mention that for that kind of equipment the max they would pay was somewhere along the lines of $2,000. Well lucky for him the police found it a few days ago, and even before he picked it up from the policy impound he took the Kubota insurance.

I guess he learned his lesson...

Not being familiar with this insurance, is it available to the purchaser if they don't finance ?
