Comparison Kubota, JD, New Holland for Newbie.

If I could take this advice a step further. If you can swing the couple extra $$ you should seriously consider a cab. Nothing like laying down a good chunck of change on an open station tractor and then finding out 6 months later you should have went with a cab Ask me how I know! Between the bugs/bees, hot/cold weather, the poision Ivy that you hit with the brush hog getting it air-born then landing all over you! Please consider the cab option!

He makes a very good point here. I don't hay but not getting a cab on my previous tractor to this the one I have now was a mistake. The cab tractors won't get any cheaper and the 0% financing won't get any lower.

I couldn't agree more. In spite of having used and still using a cab tractor on one farm, I was going to try to save a few bucks and go with an open station tractor for the farm on which we live so we didn't have to run the other tractor back and forth all of the time.

Fortunately for me, my wife talked me into going with a cab on our tractor and saved me from a big mistake as I would have wound up trading it back in I am sure or not using it much. Seems the older I get the hotter/colder it is and the bigger the bugs etc.

We do keep open station tractors for some things, but the cab tractors get most of the use. Usually if something needs to be done on one of those, I delegate that to one of my sons.

Wow, I have a lot of advice! I went to look at some Deere's today, in the 3000 series. It was crowded so I didn't really get to talk to a rep. I am going to go to see a Kioti this week. But the one dealer I spoke to (JD rep) blasted Kioti stating that Kioti is a "nightmare" to work with and get parts for? I checked out Kioti's website and I really like the look of their tractors, especially the CK 30, CK 35, and the DK 35. Anyone have experience with these in comparison to JD, NH, and Kubotas?

I forgot the mention, I am a wine enthusiast and want to plant at least an acre of wine grapes. So that means an auger to drill to plant the vines, trellis systems, etc.

I think I will at least be getting a 30 - 35 HP model of something. I called some dealers in Maine, and the prices they quote up there are much higher than in PA.

How many hours will these tractors last? I notice they go by "hours".

GOOD question! I was told the diesel engine is good for 5000 hrs. Not sure about the rest of the tractor. I put about 60 hrs a year on mine so, I guess I should expect to have to replace it in about 83 years. :confused2::thumbsup:

Don't pay any attention to what another dealer says about a competitor. Go onto the Kioti forum and see how many people love theirs. We have no good dealers in my area, so I don't seriously consider them, but when I looked at them they seemed to be well built tractors.

As to how long they last, there are some threads on here addressing that and you should not have to worry about wearing one out.

I dont know what youre buget is but I'd get bigger tactor,
The New Holland Boomer 3045 IMO is a varry nice machine:licking:. The things that make me like It is that it has Super Steer wich makes tight turning easy, The tractor has good visabilaty and comfert, the cab is nice to As far as the dealers go I have JD NH Ku all in a 10 min drive and a bobcat 20 min drive but for me a better tractor is better than closer dealer.
