Kubota KX040-4 Air conditioning recharge amount

I want to post this so everyone else doesn't have to go through what I had to go through to find out how much R134A goes back in the a/c system of the Kubota KX 040-4 excavator. I had to dissemble my HVAX system because I had no air flow out of the vents. I tore into it and discovered that the inlet side of the a/c evaporator was completely clogged with debris and what looked like a badly clogged dryer vent. I ended up having to disconnect the a/c system which then I had to vacuum and recharge the system. I called several Kubota dealers and none of them knew that the capacity amount was for the system. Finally Kitsap Kubota figured it out and the entire system holds 500 grams (17.637 ounces) of R134A refrigerant at 14 psi. I checked in the owners manual and it is not listed in that nor is it listed on a sticker anywhere on the excavator like a car is.

I wanted to pass this along to help anyone who might need this information.

Thanks for posting! I'm definitely interested in a KX-40 soon. I want an open-station, but if the deal is right on a used one, I would consider a cab.

Get the WSM. Capacity is listed in there. Did you recharge the compressor lubricant as well?
