Does it have the "check chains"? I had an L2201DT for a few years. Very tough little tractor. Never had an issue with an implement hitting the tires if the side sway chains were adjusted properly. Rear tires should be adjusted to their widest position also. Do you have a photo of the rear we can see?
The L2201 does not have a built in over run clutch so you should get one if you don't have one already.

OK.
Looks like someone changed the "check chains". There should be an adjustable tunbuckle that allows you to shorten the chain , hense, limiting the side to side sway. Look on E-Bay, there are vendors there that sell check chains with the turnbuckle.
Also, you do not have the over-run clutch (PTO). It would be in your best interest to get one, only about $50.
please attach a picture of what I need to look for on ebay and a picture of the over run clutch. What is the over run clutch for anyway? Tks cant you tell IM new at this????
With a 'transmission driven' pto, the pto is driven by a gear directly off the transmission. This means that when you press the clutch, the tractor's transmission stops driving the wheels but the pto also stops. The problem with running a bush-hog with this type pto is that it is extremely dangerous because the rotational momentum of the bush hog blades will keep driving the tractor wheels even when you press the clutch in. The operator would have to quickly shift to neutral to get the tractor to stop immediately. If you are backing up to a creek bank or deep ditch with the bush-hog, you could find yourself going on in if you can't change to neutral quick enough. The overrun clutch keeps the bush-hog from turning the transmission. Get a overrun clutch if your pto is transmission driven and you are running a bush-hog!
Please send me a picture of the back of your tractor so I may see what the check chains look like. And where can I order a tire for this type of tractor? All the help is greatly appreciated. Michelle
Kubotas B2710, M6800, L6060 cab, Volvo EC excavator, 2 ZTRs and various implements.
With chains to prevent or limit the amount of sway your left chain prevents it swinging too far to the right tire and the right chain into the left tire.
It is obvious someone has changed out some items on the 3pth life arms to chains and probably have them too long. At same time if you use an implement wider than it is set for this will happen. If you have a draw bar for this tractor measure the length (width in use) and them compare it to the mower. If the lift pins on the mower are mounted pointing out so the lift arms swing from the tire to them then you may be able to turn the pins around and help. You do need some side sway but not a lot. kt
