Kubota L245DT FEL question

Hi all. My brother inherited our fathers Kubota L245DT tractor. He would like to get a FEL that would mount on this tractor. There is only a 3 pt hitch for hydraulics, but he has located a pto drive hydraulic pump system. What makes of FEL's out there might fit this tractor, and would the pto hydraulic pump operate said loader. He would prefer used over new (cost reasons)

I imagine it will be tough to find a loader that will bolt right up....

I think if you looked at one of the Koyker or similar for the gray market yanmars, you could fab a mount up.

Have him think really hard on that PRO pump. Then if he is still leaning toward it to think really really really hard about it.
My rationale is that any time he wishes to use a PTO implement means he has to remove the pump and probably the reservoir for the system, this all means the loader must be removed also.
PRO pumps have their place, but FEL operation just is not it in my opinion. I am not an old Kubota follower so I have no help for how to best plumb into the tractors hydraulics, but there are enough out there that someone here or on orangetractortalks.com should be able to steer you to what you need.
Now for $0.02 that you did not ask for (nor your brother) it is more cost effective to buy a used tractor that already has a loader installed than to buy a used tractor and put a loader on it.
Now he may have got the tractor on a can’t pass it up deal or be attached to it because it was your fathers. This is another point he needs to consider. My guess is for less than 1.5 times the cost of a new loader (which is probably the only way to find one to fit it) he could buy a tractor in decent condition with a loader installed.
A new Koyker loader with mounting hardware but not installed will run close to $5k depending on where you ate located and how much shipping will cost.

Your brother should have no problem with a loader sharing the hydraulic system with the three point. Unless he's really into fabrication mounting s used loader may be a challenge. I know Koyker makes loaders for retrofit onto tractors and I believe Woods does as well. Expect the tab to run about $5000 though.

I had a L175DT had a loader and BH, and the loader frame was the hydraulic reservoir and the Hydraulic pump ran off the front of the engine (bottom pulley on the engine) with a sleeve coupling setup.

You could do the PTO pump but then its a dedicated loader tractor - no brush hog etc. As others have said instead of spending $5k get a tractor already setup with FEL, unless you can find a used loader $1500 or so and fab it to fit.

Thank you all for the info. I will pass it all on to him. I was thinking pretty much the same ($5000 for a new FEL). He痴 not all that mechanically inclined, (I would help, but I live 5 hrs away to fab something up to fit). The tractor was free to him (estate inherited), but don稚 think it would cost that much.
