I'm a guest here so excuse me if I bruise protocol
I have a borrowed Kubota 2550.
I was using it to move some loam the other day and suddenly lost all forward and reverse capability.
My Buddy whom i borrowed it from said it had been dripping some transmission fluid recently.
So far I have done the following:
Refilled the transmission (which took about 20 quarts)
Tested with all possible drive configurations (to eliminate the stupidity factor)
Checked the bottom side for anything which might have become disconnected.
The Kubota dealer (Larry at East Elliot Garage in Elliot, Maine) said the clutch is probably gone but given that it happened with none of the usual signs of a worn clutch ($1500.00), I am wondering if it is possibly something else...........and hopefully something cheaper.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob Crowley
