First cylinder not firing. Full voltage to glow plugs, removed it glows fine. Cracked the fuel line when running, all cylinders change the idle except the front cylinder. Fuel comes out of the fuel line at the injector and outlet of injector pump from all 4 cylinders just fine. The front injector was replaced due to suspected bad injector a while bad by a friend when it started the classic bad injector knock. The exhaust manifold for all cylinders warms pretty fast with a contact pyrometer right where the manifold meets the head. The front cylinder lags behind about 20 degrees on the temp measurement. It seems like it is getting compression or would not warm that fast. How can I tell if the injector is bad without trying to find someone who can bench test it?

why not swap the injector with another cylinder and see if that cylinder misses then? maby remove the rocker cover and check the valves are opening as a stuck valve would mean no comprssion

Was thinking about trying that next, I have the intake manifold off now, think I'll take a look at the rockers and check the adjustment and see what it does after that. Or should I swap the injector first?

On that model do you have to remove any of the items you have off now for access to the valve cover? If so I would check the valves before putting things together and then taking them apart again.
