Hello all,

I'm new to this forum but have to tell someone about my new purchase. I was able to buy a 2006 L3130D, 1200 hours, Woods front loader for $8k. This is going to be my tractor. My husband has a couple of antique Farmalls that he uses for the garden and grass, but they are just too hard for me to use. You get a beating after every use. I wanted something with power steering. I was a little hesitant with the high hour usage, but the seller lives very close and swore it was maintained. He had a commercial landscaping business that went out of business so he was selling off all his equipment. I'm so excited to be able to dig around on my property, moving mulch, dirt, etc. Glad to be here.

Congratulations on your new tractor. Post some pictures if you can.

If the tractor had the required maintenance, then the 1200 hours will not be a problem. If the previous owner did not have a maintenance log to show when the last maintenance was done, then it would be wise to change oil and filters in both the engine and transmission as well as fuel and air filters. Most diesels should have the valve lash adjusted near 1000 hours as well. Check the maintenance schedule in your manual. With proper maintenance you will get many 1000's of hours out of your tractor.

Thank you for the reply. I asked my husband if he knew how to adjust the valve lash and he said the instructions were in the manual. The previous owner said he maintained all his equipment, just not the trucks that he used to haul everything around. Looking around at his yard and home, I believe him. Everything was neat and tidy.
We've paid for it but won't actually bring it home until Friday. I'll take pictures then and post them.
