kubota L3250
HI, husband has started on a restoration project of L3250 Kubota.

the three point linkage rises and falls ok but will not lift anything, any suggestions on where to start looking?

thank you

May just be low hydraulic pressure due to low level or a clogged filter.

Does it have a Front End Loader? If it does, does it work fine?

When the 3ph doesn't lift, does the tractor sound like it's going into bypass or sound like it's straining or lugging down the engine?

Thanks for you interest, yes front loader works fine, now the flow and return are the right way round which some numpty wrongly connected!
Link arms come up with no strain or hydraulic bypass operation and no odd noises.
Will not lift anything but once up will stay up ok.
Kind regards, Neil

So raise the three point hitch up to the top and shut off the tractor, does the 3ph stay up?

You say "stays up ok" (I assume with the tractor running) if you put any down pressure on the 3ph (weight of your arm) does it just falls with little or no resistance? or can you stand on it and it still holds up?

IF it doesn't, Try that again with someone moving the loader up and down and curling it... (thinking if you already found hoses in the wrong place once...)

Let us know how it goes... If the loader is working correctly, the pump is good. Hydraulic oil goes to the front end loader first then 3 ph. Are there any remotes? Are there any extra hydraulic connections for rear implements or for the front (like for a grapple or snow plow)??

Sounds like the O rings between the 3pt control valve and rockshaft or the 3pt relieve valve.

HI, Once link arms are raised the will stay raised, at the moment there is a link box on the back with 10 concrete blocks in it!, but to achieve that, I had to manually assist the box to the raised position before loading the blocks of course ;)
there is a tipping pipe but not connected anything to it yet.
So, the linkage stays up with the engine turned off.
thanks for your interest!

I don't think I have found either of those valves yet, is it something a novice can tackle?

I have just discovered the four wheel drive is not working either.

thank for your interest.

4x4 - The front drive shaft could have stripped out, not that bad to tear into that... from under neath. So you know how to engage the 4x4? I'm not sure about that model...

I'm with LeeJohn, above, the three point hitch control needs to be rebuilt (most likely). Replacing "O" rings... look at the linkage to raise and lower the hitch.

If it doesn't have Remotes, yes this is some thing that a novice can add. I did it and I had no clue what was needed when I started... we can give you the basics and link to other threads about it.

Need to get the tractor running first ;)
