Kubota L3400 top link question

My L3400 has three positions for the top link on the rear of the transaxle housing which I am not sure how to use. I noticed in the operator's manual that for certain implements they recommend the top or bottom position, etc. Does the upper position allow you to raise an implement higher and a lower position allow you to lower an implement lower, or how does that work? I mostly use a box blade, scrape blade or rotary cutter for the work which I have to do.

Not real sure what to tell you, but, if it has three holes, I'd start with the middle hole and see how it works for you. Putting it in the top or bottom would affect the tilt of the implement more than the height. You could always adjust the top link itself to get the right angle. What implements does it say to use on the bottom or top holes?

Short answer? Yes. For instance, I vary which link I use when I have a 3 foot auger (post hole digger) on my tractor, vs. the extension that gets it to 4 feet (you want to clear the ground with the auger while you're driving the tractor around, but you may also want the maximum depth of hole drilling also). My brush cutter (a Woods) also has 2 holes in the attachment sling, and some combination of cutter attachment holes and top link holes gets me exactly (well, nearly) where I want the cutter for what I need to do. Experiment, and select what you need for what particular task you are doing, and be glad you have a choice.

Thanks for the replies. I was beginning to think the question was too dumb to draw a response. I'll swap out positions the next time I use an implement and pay more attention to how the lift responds.

Tojo, I had the same "dumb" question for my L3400 and now that you have asked it I do not have to. I moved the link around a few times and then just left it it one position figuring some day I'd figure it out. You were the smart one since you did ask the question. Thanks.

Ideally, you should use the hole closest to the upper link pivot point... believe it or not, the whole affair with the holes does pivot.

The other holes (generally lower) are for use when using your draft control.

While any of the holes will work (and will alter reach and angle) the top hole is the strongest by virtue of it's location. Your Kubota manual should outline this, albeit generally giving a rather poor explanation.
