My L355 is a four wheel drive model. As such, the front wheel hubs attach to the stationary front axle tube at a square flange with four bolts and two nuts on studs. I am trying to remove the entire hub assembly in order to fix an oil leak at the steering pivot point. It looks to me the only way to get the pivot point apart is to remove the entire hub assembly.
I have removed the four bolts and two nuts from the connecting flange, but have been unable to get the hub assembly to move off the axle end. I have used a good sized hammer to try and jar it loose and tried various methods of trying to pull it off, but to no avail. I have the shop manual and it makes the removal sound as easy as removing the attachment bolts and nuts and then simply sliding the hub assembly off - of course.
If anyone who has done this job could provide me with some guidance it is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
