I had that same L3800 and loved it. Used most fuel doing tilling work. About 7 or 8 tenths of a gallon an hour. Sipped it. S219's description of the "jerky" hitch matched my experience. Wasn't an issue for me at all. The loader was very capable. I dug a pond with mine mostly using the loader with tooth bar. I had rear wheels filled which really helps for ballast and when doing loader work, put a box blade on it as well. Position control worked very well. I did a lot of gravel road maintenance with it and also a lot of leveling in my yard and at my property.
If I could afford two tractors I would have kept that one, but I needed something smaller for belly mowing duties as well and sold mine to buy a BX-2370. I miss how fast I could move piles with the L3800. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if I had the money and could justify having 2 tractors for a grand total of 11 acres.
