Kubota L3940 HST Hydraulics overheated

Not my intention at all, but come on, lets take care of our equipment. It's not the tractors fault it overheated, the operator has to take responsibility. Lets see, it's hot, I'm bush hogging in tall weeds with lots of debris flying around that may clog my radiator, I think it would be a could idea to watch my temperature gauge? Just want to make sure he knows about all this so it does not happen again. Glare, sweat, and breathing is not an excuse, sorry. Philip.

The short length of hose that brings low pressure hydraulic
fluid to the steering pump does have pin holes in it. It was OK before
so it was the overheating that caused the pin holes in the 9" inlet hose.

The pinholes have caused all your hydraulic problems, IMO, but I don't think the
2 problems are related. The pinholes caused air-entrainment, which heats up the
fluid FAST. It can even cause dieseling inside the fluid as the tiny bubbles get
compressed.

Since engine overheating is such a common problem when mowing with tractors
from my local rental yard, they have decided to install temp-safety switches. Now
the tractors will shut off before heat damage can occur. One engine has already
been blown by overheating one of their new Bobcats. Dry grasses are super-easy to
suck into the radiators.
