Kubota L4060 vs. NH Boomer 40

The 2 speed shift on the fly HST+ is so worth it on the Kubota. The other HST+ features may be gimmicks for most people. Every HST machine has a clunky 3 (occasionally 2) speed tranny. Fiddly to shift. The HST+ has a 2 speed shift on the fly that means you rarely have to mess with the clunky transmission.

All of the Grands have the same cab. They have different engines & tires. Above the L4060 has a bigger front axle and a combo Cat1/2 3pt. So if you can test drive any Grand, just account for power & minor traction differences & they will be very similar. The L4060 can take the small & medium loader. Above can take the big loader. Dont bother getting the small loader.

When I was shopping a tractor to replace my Kubota L3410, the B2650 and L4060 made my short list. For my uses the B2650 was just too light. I need to maximize my chances at getting up sloped residential driveways without chain use, which requires weight.

Ended up with the L4060 coupled with an ssqa plow and rear blower / blade. The L60 hst+ is really nice. I generally run it in Auto Throttle Advance, Stall Guard on, and adjust the hst response to relatively quick. I use the Hi/Lo transmission frequently.
