I'm looking to purchase a Kubota L4400 4wd FEL. Prices In getting from local dealers are in the $19900 range. Is this reasonable based on others experience? How much flexibility do the dealers have to negotiate? Thanks for your comments.
Bunk, I bought mine for out the door at 19,500 with a FEL and 4wd. I know N80 bought his for right around 19,000 I believe. I know here in Florida the prices ranged all the up into the 20,000 range plus tax. I bought mine in Georgia and saved a few thousand dollars by doing that. You can also look at this link that was started the other day here
Yep, mine was $19,200 but that was with a $690 rear remote installed. I don't remember the original quote but I think they came off the total price maybe $300-$400 in order to beat other dealers.
I was at a dealership in Hendersonville, NC and he had a price that was close but I wanted my dealer close by anyway. But, he was telling me that he had a guy from Conn. coming down to buy a tractor from him. This makes me think there must be a fair amount of regional variation in price.
I also told someone here on TBN about the price I paid and they drove down from southern Virginia to buy an L4400 at from my dealer.
I still think that for around $19,000 the L4400 is one of the best deals out there in terms of bang for the buck. It may not be fancy but it has great specs.
In the for what it's worth department, I purchased an L-4400 at the local dealership. They weren't inclined to negotiate price but threw in wheel loading and tire chains as part of the deal. Can't wait to put the machine to work.
Thanks...I'll keep in touch. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I think you'll be happy with it. I've really enjoyed mine and it has already made a big difference on my place.
Just recently I've gotten better at stump removal using the FEL. The ground has some moisture in it now and I've been able to dig around a few stumps and push/pull them over or use a chain to drag them out. A little axe and shovel work mixed in. The reason I mention it is that the more time I spend on this machine the better I get at certain things and the better I am able to appreciate the power this little tractor has if you know how to apply it.
I really need to get water in my rear tires. I think that will improve things even more in terms of FEL work.
