My tractor is showing Error Code 87. Everything seems to be working fine. Anyone know what this code is? Thanks.

Engine rpm sensor has a fault. Likely stall guard will not function.
Thanks. Is it something I can fix or do I have to take it to a dealer?
Could it be the tachometer cable became disconnected or broke? Does it even have have a tachometer cable? Where is the sensor located? If it just a sensor then it is not too difficult.

No tach cable. All electric. I will have to look at mine but I think the tach sensor is on the front of the injection pump. Check for loose connectors.

Yes that is were it is, but by the parts list it looks like it goes into the block.

Found the problem!!! The electrical connection came unplugged. I cleaned, plugged it back in and the code went away and the tach started working again!
I appreciate all the help. This forum is great!
Glad you found the problem and thanks for letting us know. One thing though, you never mentioned the tach was not working. You only mentioned the error code and said everything else was functioning. You had me a little confused about the problem.
