Greetings! I have a Kubota with a LA 302 loader. This loader is equipped with a Husco contol valve and is currently having problems with down pressure.
The joystick seems to slip past the point that the bucket should engage and maintain down pressure. If I back off just a tad and hold the joy stick in the correct position and don't wiggle it one bit, it might develop down pressure.
If it's in the mood at the same time I am.
Once in a great while, I fire up the tractor and it's in the down pressure position. That's a fun way to wake up.
Any idea as to either a parts supplier? (other than my dealer who desires $23 for a gallon of Universal Hyd fluid)
Any idea of a direct fit replacement valve? I believe I have figured out this is a 3 spool valve. Maybe.
On another topic I did not get the Kubota universal Hydraulic fluid. I picked up an off brand. Might not have been too smart. I have no idea and I welcome any suggestions or ideas. No, I had problems with the loader long, long before I changed fluid.
Thanks in advance!
Bruce

The point you are reaching is the 'float' position... that is the point past power down...
Any good UDT will work... Tractor Supply Co sells a great premium UDT for around $30 per 5 gallon pail... KennyV

Sounds like your control valve has worn from use and developed too much play in the detent stops. Husco is the OEM for Kubota FEL control valves, but I don't think they deal directly with the end user for parts or replacements. A local hydraulics shop would probably be able to do a rebuild and the Kubota dealer would be happy to sell you a new one, of course. Can't hurt to find out the damages for a new one.

Most owners tend to stick with the Kubota liquid gold hydraulic fluid, which Kubota recommends (gee, go figure). It is good stuff, though. Others favor equivalent quality non-Kubota products, which can still be expensive. Not too many fans of using the cheap stuff, though.

It is possible that you and I are having the same or very similar problem. In my case, the spring detent assembly needs replaced. It is accessed by removing the valve from the lower front end of the valve block.

The price for this kit is $155.00 from Kubota. I haven't purchased one yet, I am trying to find a lower cost alternative.

I agree with the above, detent problems. I rebuilt the valve on my New Holland (don't know man., but valves can't be that different). The hardest part of the procedure (for me) was getting the valve off and back on the tractor (all that plumbing). Mine was a two spool afair and I pulled one spool at a time, replaced "O" rings, detent cap and ball, each one at a time and put each one back together one at a time (detents and spool different on each one, didn't want to mix them up). Another hard part was getting the spool back into the vavle. New "O" rings make a tight fit and you don't want to pinch that new ring.

Rebuild kit has to be more cost effective than a new valve.

Good luck,

rebuild the valve you have, it's the best option for the money!

The lower grade oil would not effect the valve as much as it will the pump and drives if hydro over the long run.

You could run water for a while and you might not have a problem if money is an issue. You will pay sooner or later!
