How easy is it to take off a Kubota loader compared to a John Deere? I am asking this because I am looking for a bigger tractor as alot of you know and I need to be able to take it off fast. I am going to get some prices tomorrow from a Kubota dealer I am looking at the L4610 or a JD 4710. Thanks, Cliff

Plower, I'm going to have to go look at a John Deere loader some more some day because I've seen messages posted saying the Deere loader is the easiest to take off and put on, and I just don't see how it could get any quicker or simpler than my Kubota. If I'm not in any hurry it takes me two and a half to 3 minutes to take it off or put it on. Now of course the only place I've done it is inside my shop building on a level concrete floor.

As Bird said, I believe it is fairly easy. I have a kubota 3710 w/ loader. If you read the manual it explains the steps well. The manual is overkill on the number of times to shut off tractor. Basically the tractor only needs to be shut off once for taking it off or on - when the hydraulic hose is connected or disconnected from the loader. There are a couple of tricks requiring tipping of the bucket necessary but that is relatively easy once it is done a few times. I would estimate 2 minutes to take off and 2-3 minutes to put on. That is taking an easy pace. I also have a 1994 JD 5300 and that loader seems to be more difficult but maybe it is me because I almost never take the loader off. I have taken the kubota loader off on dirt while on hillside and didn't have any problems. In fairness the JD 4000 series loaders are different in how they mount compared to the JD 5000 series. As people have said on this board, the 4000 series seem very simple. Have the dealer take the loader off of the kubota and put back on.

The L4610 has arguably the easiest loader to remove. Easier perhaps then all of the L's below it even since there is no bracing. Four quick couplers removed from the operator area and 2 approx. 1" pins. You need to get off the tractor to get the loader stand supports in place. Rat...

I went to the Kubota dealer and they didnt even give me any prices so I won't be doing business with them, they couldnt care less if they made a sale or not. So I am not going to give my money to them and the next dealer is 100 miles away. Sorry guys no Kubota for me ever. I did stop at a New Holland dealer I found on the way there, I am kinda intrested in them. I got a price quote on a TC45. Thanks for your help anyways. Cliff

Plower, as you know, I prefer Orange, but the dealer can sure make the difference. I'd be driving a different color, too, if I had to deal with the closest Kubota dealer to my house.

Hmmm, Cliff, strange part of the world you live in, around here you can get prices and great help whether its Kubota, John Deere, New Holland Case, Massey, CAT, it just does not matter. Competition pretty much requires it. To bad for you though, Kubota has some of the best compacts made, but you should be happy with a John Deere, especially since I think thats what you really want anyway, Rat...

Rat,
You should have seen this place though, they were like a bunch of people from Deliverance/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. But yes I do like JD but I also want the best tractor for the buck or what I like better. The New Holland I looked at today seem like a option, I have to do a little more homework now. Cliff

Cliff,

I wouldn't let one dealer dictate anything..., I would go to the next nearest 2 or 3 Kubota dealers and keep looking and comparing...

I have to agree, New Holland has done alot of homework the last couple years and they seem to be doing/trying the right things... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
