Kubota M5140 Case 580C, Case 450C, Case 850B John Deere 350C, Kubota L185, Kubota L245H,
Looking for the Plastic (Nylon)? Cap,* that is used* to seal Hydraulic/Transmission fluid reservoir fill port it is located at the rear of tractor slightly above the PTO Cover (Shield).* I can not locate it in the Kubota illustrated parts list Online, mine has been cross threaded.* I do not know what Kubota calls this threaded plug* in the Operators Manual it is referred to as a Oil inlet. ??*
Looking for a part number AND what Kubota Calls this item ?*

Is there an alternative that I can use for replacing this plastic cap Wouldn’t a metal Cap not be so easy to cross thread ?

Is there a fix for this ? Thanks

Hopefully it's as simple as you'll be more careful in the future to not force a cross thread to the point of damaging the plug.
It's equally "easy to cross thread" that hard nylon plug as a metal one, the difference is your not going to damage the internal female threads on the tractors rear with a plastic plug. Now if someone would come up with a way to remind someone (ME) to put the fuel cap back on the tank.......

Thanks for the response, Just so you know I am not an idiot most of the time, This is a tractor I bought recently I got a great deal on. The former owner cross threaded the plug . I didn't notice it till I was getting ready to do a 600 hr Hydraulic/Transmission fluild & filter change. I was able to reinstall the plug by very carefully threading it back in But takes to much time. I found the part numbers and order a one to make my life easier. It's a real pain to R&R the filters without removing the rear tire. Thanks again for the reply. PS all my other tractors and I have had quite a few (retired excavating contractor) all had metal plugs never had a problem with them.

10-4 case! I was concerned that you might not have been the one that cross threaded it and tried to be gentle, although I have lost a fuel tank lid and forgotten to put it back on a time or two.:D
