I think I've narrowed my choices down to one of these two tractors (although JD 5105 is still an outside possibility). Will be equipped with FEL. I am looking for advice from any of you who have experience with either of these models. Has anyone used these to bale hay (small squares - JD 14T baler)? Kioti is about $2K cheaper but I'm less concerned with cost than with long term performance. Thanks

Look, I know I'm new to TBN but the best advice I can give you is to read thru the threads (both old and new) in each of the forums. Glean from them the stuff that will help you make your decision. This stuff has been asked about a hundred times. Any more, it becomes about getting support for the various issues you will face along the way. The bottom line seems to be...if YOU can turn the wrench then go for what floats your boat.....If you can't then go for who's gonna throw you the life preserver when the ship goes down. You may even find that (for now) used is your best bet.

I'll tell you this: if the M4900 is anything like the M4800 and if the DK 45 is anything like the DK35, I'd pick the Kioti, hands down. I have no idea how either of these machines will run a bailer or anything else, but having spent about 6 hours running an M4800 to move dirt and 20 minutes on a DK35 just tooling around. I liked the driveability (I know, it's subjective!) of the DK. It shifted easier and seemed to have more hp per pound. I know that this is a little like apples to oranges, but maybe not completely. Try them both out. Kioti build and quality is right up there, and they have a strong following on this board.
